Barefoot. Although I have heard tumbling is done with shoes...
Anyways gymnastics is done barefoot. It is better that way because shoes put extra weight on your feet and make it harder to tumble. Also, you can't really point your toes, and on beam you need to grip the beam with your toes, which shoes don't have, and lastly its harder to cast on bars with shoes. ( and they are no use.)

Also most gyms dont allow shoes , execpt beam shoes like youve heard, if you have sweatly feet.:)

hope this helps!

well i have a friend who uses beam shoes, on all of the events, because of her heels, and she can put her supports in them, but also they are used as a way to grip the beam beter, especially if you have really sweaty feet. also, rhythemic gymnasts wear a shoe that covers theri toes, and and elastic bad holds it around therir feet. i think that it is a personal preferance, ive never worn beam shoes or the rythemic ones, i just go bare foot and i find it quite comfortable its you choice

It would b best if you would b barefeeted. Unless you need to wear a ankle brace, but the only foot wear for gymnastics is beam shoes.

Rhythmic gymnasts wear a sort of "half shoe" that has the toes covered but a strap in the back. In artistic, some athletes wore beam shoes on beam, floor and vault. But like the other poster said, no one wears them anymore. One of the reasons is that it's easier for the judges to see toe point and foot form on bare feet.
