I’ve worn orthotics for years to help with tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. The only shoes I can find that will fit my foot and an orthotic is New Balance. I need a pair of shoes that are somewhat dressy (can be worn with skirts and suits) but also comfortable and will accommodate an orthotic. I’ve tried SAS in the past, but they are old-looking and don’t provide a whole lot of support. I’m thinking about trying Drew. What are your thoughts?

Hi,
My family and I are going to be going on vacation soon and we will be doing tons of walking and hiking. I am looking for SAS shoes because my mom has some and she absolutely loves them!! Everywhere I go to on the internet has good comments on them, but I can’t seem to find them as a good discounted price. We really can’t afford to pay $60-$100 dollars for them. If anyone knows where I can find some or purchase them off the internet for a very reasonable price, please let me know. I have a very limited amount of time!

I’ve heard New Balance is good. I’ve always been a Nike girl myself. I’m really hard on shoes so something that can really “take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’ ” as the old Timex commercial used to go, would be great.

I’ve tried SAS in the past and they only lasted about 6 months before they broke down. I’ve tried Easy Spirit, and they only lasted about 6 weeks.

I plan on buying a new pair of tennies with my tax refund (hopefully in March), and while I’ll look at Nike’s first, I would like to branch out, but don’t want to waste my money on something that isn’t time tested.
Oh, and I’ll be using them for daily shoes, as well as to go walking in. I plan to walk on a treadmill until it warms up, then possibly walk outside.
ZCoils, I hadn’t thought of those. I met a guy whose wife sells them in the town I live in. I’ll have to look them up.

Yes, I agree that it’s best to have a pair of shoes that’s just for workouts/walking, and a different pair for daily use (work, non workout use), however, I’m not sure I can swing it with the other things I plan to use my TR for.

ok, I was a stay at home mom for 20 years and just now went to work. I am standing on my feet for 7 hours a day. I have tried 3 pairs of shoes and they did not work, the pain was unbearable. So I got a pair of SAS shoes and had them fit me for them so the size was good. The shoes have these arch supporters in them and so now after my first day of wearing them my arches are hurting badly….Is there any hope for me that my feet will eventually get used to standing? Will I get used to the arch supports in my shoes or should I take them out? I take aleve before work and halfway through to help a bit with the pain, is there anything else I could do? When I walk it is better but most of the day I am just standing in one spot cooking…..HELP!!!!!
